MWS:What is a Gateway Account

Mobile phones typically reside behind an operator NAT/Firewall, which effectively means that they are unreachable from the outside of that firewall. So, in principle, being able to browse to a website residing on a mobile phone simply is not possible.

To circumvent the operator NATs/Firewalls we have created a connectivity solution that depends upon a gateway running on the Internet. We have made a public gateway available and in order for your mobile website to be addressable in and reachable from the Internet, you need an account on that gateway.

If you are content with being able access your mobile website using the browser on your phone, over Bluetooth/USB by using, for instance, GnuBox, or over WLAN, you do not need an account. You can also setup a gateway of your own, in which case you will need an account on that gateway.
