SofiaHowToHelp
From OpenSource
There are a number of ways one can help the Sofia-SIP project. Here are some of them:
- Documentation. You can contribute to documentation at this wiki, or make patches against the source tree which contains our Doxygen reference documentation.
- Supporting other users. Answering mails on sofia-sip-devel and #sofia-sip IRC channel at freenode is very much welcome!
- Work on binary packages. We already have some (see [SofiaBinaries]), but a lot of work is still to be done. Submitting and maintaining packages for various distributions, extras/contrib repositories, etc is a great way to promote Sofia-SIP.
- Testing and reporting errors. This is always valueable work. You can report bugs either on the mailing list, or directly to our bug tracker.
- Bugfixing. Fixing a bug you've encountered is an excellent way to start learning the codebase. See README.developers for detailed instructions on how to submit patches.
- Implementing a new feature. See our roadmap for currently planned features (and you can of course come up with something else). Please consult sofia-sip-devel or #sofia-sip before you start to avoid any duplicated efforts. And see README.developers for detailed instructions on how to submit patches.
